Mount Olive Township all Veterans Memorial

The All Veterans Memorial, which was approved in 2006 by the Mayor and the Township Council, will be erected in Turkey Brook Park in the near future.  The concept of the ALL VETERANS MEMORIAL was originally envisioned by Mount Olive Scout, Eric Wood, as part of his work toward his Eagle Scout Award.  A unique aspect of this memorial is that it is not just for Mount Olive, but for veterans from anywhere .  The ALL VETERANS MEMORIAL acknowledges and honors all men and women, both living and deceased, who proudly served or are now serving our country during war or peace time

There is a memorial committee comprised  of Charlene Uhrmann, Chair & Founder of the Memorial Project; Bill & Linda Sohl, Memorial Day Parade Committee Chairs; Jim Lynch, Mt Olive Buildings & Grounds; and Thea Dunkle, President of the Mount Olive Township Historical Society.  Many hours have been dedicated toward working through the many details of bringing this unique memorial to Mount Olive Township .  "The living memorial will also establish a place to properly retire, in a dignified manner, United States flags that once flew proudly over American Soil” said Mrs. Uhrmann.  Located in Turkey Brook Park, the memorial will offer a “memorial brick” walkway leading to the monument and flag retirement site.  The quiet site will provide a sanctuary to those who want to honor their loved ones.

Residents of Mount Olive Township and surrounding towns are welcome to purchase a “memorial brick” for their loved ones who served, and can obtain information and a form at: www.publiusmarketing.com .  Forms and checks can be sent to:  All Veterans Memorial, 12 Jennies Lane, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 .
