We will jump into medieval times as we explore the land of castles, knights and dragons. Boys and girls alike will enjoy this exciting summer workshop camp class filled with adventure. We will draw a variety of characters and the items familiar with the time, including: knights in armor, jesters juggling, jousters, catapults and more.
We will even take our castle theme and enter the land of cartoons as we illustrate the humor of the time. Two large Scenes will be created including one of a large castle with a moat and the other of a fiery dragon full of color and detail!
Join us for many adventures from a long time ago. No prior drawing experience necessary. All materials provided in class.

Boys & Girls will learn the fundamental elements of basketball in a (Non-Competitive, ages 8-10, Competitive, ages 11-13) atmosphere. Kids will be engaged in basic skill development, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, ball handling, basic defensive skills, team work, station drills, games, lectures geared to their age to help better understand the game, and more.

Rec & Roll Camp schedule is set up similar to a school day.There will be 6 - 45 minute activity stations for the kids to rotate to thru out the day. These stations include sports , games . special activities & craft. There will be 2 fifteen minute snack times and a 20 minute lunch. Please pack snacks, lunch & a water bottle with your childs name on it. Parents will receive emails the friday prior to the session they have chosen with more details about the weeks events and the trip

 Our all new Creative Kids Camp will give campers the chance to have complete creative control as they explore a wide variety of tools and materials, and participate in fun and exciting activities!  Campers will get a chance to dabble in creative art as they paint, sketch, and sculpt.  They can create a storybook, comic book, or script to act out.  They will make home-made jewelry or key-chains, design their own camp shirts, sculpt modeling chocolate and fondant during our edible art challenge, and have free exploration time to work on projects of their choice!  Let your child express their inner creativity this summer at Creative Kids Camp!

Our Junior Scientists summer program is all about bringing science to life and showing our campers how exciting science exploration and experimentation can be!  Our hands-on, summer-themed science projects combine indoor and outdoor activities for a week of pure science fun!  We’ll work on projects and experiments such as creating safe and fun chemical reactions that ooze, bubble, fog, or change color; designing, constructing and testing various structures; exploring physical forces and aerodynamics; studying Earth science and living organisms; tinkering with technology; and many more exciting, engaging, and fully hands-on activities!    *(Students are grouped by age at the program)

At our new Tech-gineering summerprogram, campers will get to enjoy a week full of tinkering with technology and designing and constructing engineering projects using LEGO’s, K’nex, as well as various building materials they can find around the house.  We’ll race RC vehicles, learn how to create circuits, explore solar power and program robots.  We’ll also have team projects where campers are challenged to design, construct, and test structures or machines that can perform specific tasks.  Some projects will be brought home, while others will be built and tested at camp.

Our Groovy Girls summer program is the perfect place for girls to come together, enjoy the summer with friends, and have fun being a girl!  We’ll have a wide variety of activities for our groovy girls to participate in – everything from fashion design and making our own jewelry, to baking and decorating delicious summer treats, to scrapbooking, tie-dye art, face-painting, and creating our own temporary tattoos.  We’ll have fun, summer-themed games and relay races for our Groovy Girls to participate in, and we’ll offer free time each day where girls can choose their own activities or expand upon their favorite projects.  We end our awesome week of summer fun with a Groovy Girsl party!

(Although this program was designed to include activities that are typically preferred by girls, if a boy wishes to join they are welcome to do so.)  *(Students are grouped by age at the program)

The Mt. Olive Fraternal Order of Police and will be hosting and running the 5th Annual FOP Sponsored Baseball Camp at Turkey Brook Park this summer. 

Corporal Paul Ottavinia, who enjoyed an 11-year professional baseball career in the New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, and Montreal Expos organizations prior to becoming an officer, will be acting as the camp director/coordinator.  Officer Casey Grimm, who also played professional baseball in the St Louis Cardinals organization prior to becoming an officer, will be one of the instructors.  Several other officers currently with the Mt. Olive Police who were outstanding players at the high school and college level will also be assisting as instructors.

The camp will be open to township residents from the ages of 8-12 who are looking to improve their baseball skills as well as meet and interact with police officers working in their community.  Fundamentals of the game, including throwing/pitching, fielding, hitting, and base running will be taught, as well as competitive games.

 

General Information
Campers should arrive at approximately 8:30 a.m. date TBA for registration.  All other successive days campers should arrive at approximately 8:45 a.m. and be ready to start the day at 9:00 a.m.

Cost: $115 per session per child

 

2 sessions offered -Different activities for each session !

Dates:  July 14th-18th and Aug 18th-22nd

Campers will engage in specialized activities that encourage social skills and self confidence  while meeting new friends and having a fantastic summer adventure!
Camp activities are reflected by the theme of the day such as 'Pirates & Princesses', Garden Explorers (*we will be learning about and doing our own keepsake planting!), Pajama Day, Superhero Day and a 'Holiday Day' (*including a summer Halloween!).  We will also be doing Arts & Crafts, Singing and Dancing, Kids Yoga and playing various games as well!  Please send a healty snack and 2 bottles of water.

Get Up and Go Camp

 

Throughout our weekly sessions, we are committed to spending quality time with each student to encourage athletic development and social skill awareness. Groups are capped at 20-30 students, promoting small group mentoring opportunities and enhanced individual attention to support healthy self-confidence and self-efficacy.

The structure of each weekly camp will address a variety of fitness activities, cooperative activities as well as nutrition, goal setting, self-esteem, peer relationships, and positive coping skills. Students will have an opportunity to work with others in team building activities and problem solving tasks. The diversity of age levels promotes peer mentoring and the development of leadership qualities.

PE Instructor, Michael Schwartz

Michael Guli is a certified PE and Health instructor with nine years experience. He is a graduate of Rowan University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science. In addition, he is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University and holds a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum.From an early age, Mr. Guli enjoyed playing a variety of sports including baseball, soccer and tennis, and felt an increase in confidence and self esteem when he was involved in athletics. He is a tennis instructor, and has participated and coached many individual and team sports.

Michael Schwartz is a certified physical education teacher. He is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University. Mr. Schwartz started his career with the Mt. Olive Child Care and Learning Center working the before and aftercare program. He also taught Physical Education part time at Sandshore Elementary School before obtaining a full time position at Mountain View Elementary.Mr. Schwartz began focusing on athletic achievement from an early age and participated in the following sports: AAU Basketball, High School Basketball, and Baseball He continues to be involved in athletics by participating in Softball and Basketball.
