This year will be a challenge as we have realized the unprecedented slowdown in the housing industry, the continued non-occupancy of commercial buildings, and the ever-increasing costs associated with energy and daily operations.
The Township Council, as the legislative branch of the government, is charged with approving the municipal budget and enacting the ordinances (laws) of the municipality; while the Mayor is responsible for carrying out all Council decisions and for the day-to-day operation of all functions of the municipality.
Continuing to seek out new ratables, shared services, private-public partnerships, and working towards having muncipal buildings utilize “renewable energy” and alaternative fueled vehhicles; are some of the ways this Council will work with the Mayor to attempt to minimize tax increases.
