One pint of blood can save a
life. That life could be someone
you know. Although 60% of the population
in our region are eligible donors,
only 2% actually come out to donate
blood. Eligible candidates can
donate blood every 56 days. One
of the benefits of donating blood
is that the NJ/NY Blood Centers
do a thorough screening and test
the blood you donate to make sure
that the donors have no medical
conditions they are not aware of.
If the tests show positive for
any reason, the donors are notified
to follow up with their doctors.
On Friday, June 27th, Mt. Olive
Township employees and residents
came out to donate blood. Pictured
here is Maryann Piegaro, RN, Mt.
Olive Township and Chris Colwell
of New Jersey Blood Services, a
Division of the New York Blood
Center.
The MOT Blood Drive went well and was a success.
